‘To drink tea, or bubble tea. That is the question’, is what most new-age Hamlets dwell upon in their private moments. Bad joke aside, bubble teas are at their prime, and they seem to thrive in their throne of the most preferred drink in Malaysia.

We might even go as far as saying the bubble tea craze is madness. But, ‘Though this be madness, yet there is a method in it.’ So, we’ve decided to help you out by listing the Top 6 Bubble Tea to Try in Kota Damansara if you’re ever in town. Sip away!

1. Xing Fu Tang

Another strong contender in the bubble tea rave is Xing Fu Tang with their signature Brown Sugar Boba Milk. Upon your order, the tearista may hint at you to open the cap and break the top caramelised part before stirring the drink 18 times (for luck, of course!)

You’ll also be in for a show as the staff at XFT use a butane torch and make your drink all the more lit! While you’re here, try out their ice cream version of the bubble tea which will blow your mind.

Address: 19-1, Jalan PJU 5/10, Dataran Sunway, Kota Damansara, 47810 Petaling Jaya, Selangor
Hours: 12.00 PM – 1.00 AM

2. The Alley

For those of you who prefer a drink with more subtle sugar content, this bubble tea place will be right up your alley! Best known for its Brown Sugar Deerioca Milk, where the chewy tapioca balls are soaked in brown sugar for a couple of hours and mixed with fresh milk. The dark brown sugar at the bottom of the cup hiding the glistening globes of the pearl paired with the white milk is breathtaking!

We urge you to try a lesser-known but just as tasty drink called Drown-a-Bear Au Lait. We know! It sounds gruesome, but dunking your chocolate pear lolly into the warm milk is so much fun.

Address: A-GF-10 Sunway Nexis, Jalan PJU 5/1, Kota Damansara, 47810 Petaling Jaya, Selangor
Hours: 11.00 AM – 1.00 AM

3. Yumi Bubble Tea & Little Fat Duck

Swing by this cute restaurant for a collection of odds and ends from all over the globe, including bubble tea. While you’re here, be sure to try their signature brown sugar milk tea at the lowest price. This milky delight serves up pearls that are significantly smaller than the other contenders on this list.

The smaller bites will make some prefer this serving because you can truly get a homogenous flow of tea and pearls. While you’re here, be sure to try their gyozas and maybe a plate of pasta. The smoothness of the tea allows space for more substantial meals!

Address: 23, Jalan Camar 4/2, Kota Damansara, 47810 Petaling Jaya, Selangor
Hours: 12.00 PM – 12.00 AM (Closed on Sundays)

4. Tealive

How could we go through this list without including our very own Malaysian brand of bubble tea? Tealive’s Signature Milk Tea is a must-have while you’re here. The concoction is of brewed quality tea, milk and pearls that taste of caramel pudding. A total treat! Apart from teas, coffee lovers should try their Bang Bang Coffee for a good caffeine rush.

Address: 30, Jalan Teknologi, Kota Damansara, 47810 Petaling Jaya, Selangor
Hours: 10.00 AM – 10.00 PM

5. Daboba Sunway Giza

Daboba is most famous for its signature roasted brown sugar pearl fresh milk. The fusion of earthy brown sugar and creamy milk allows your palate to bloom with flavour and a fragrance reminding you of simpler times.

Their Brown Sugar Series is a crème brûlée-style concoction with a layer of cream foam topped with brown sugar that’s torched until it’s caramelised. It’s quite a sight to see. On the other hand, if you’re not have a sweet tooth or are looking for a drink that’s cooling and hydrating, try out the Pure Fresh Tea Series.

Address: C-06-G, Sunway Giza Mall, 2, Jalan PJU 5/14, Pju 5 Kota Damansara, Kota Damansara, 47810 Petaling Jaya, Selangor
Hours: 12.00 PM – 1.00 AM

6. Lohass

We thought it would be best to save the most interesting for last. Lohass serves up a whole array of bubble teas which are according to many, not offensively sweet and a great drink to sip on. We recommend signatures such as the Strawberry Bubble Thick Milk Tea (yes, you read that right. This drink is THICK) and the Strawberry Bubble Thick Green Milk Tea for a filling cup of quali-tea.

Another favourite is the Watermelon Green Tea with Coconut Jelly for an unexpected fusion that works really well! While you’re there try out their Taiwanese Macaron Wheel Pies Series with four bubble tea-inspired flavours. If you like macaroons and you like tea, this dessert will surely live up to your expectations.

Address: A-GF-11 Sunway Nexis, Jalan PJU 5/1, Kota Damansara, 47810 Petaling Jaya, Selangor
