‘Buy Now, Help Them’ Campaign – pandamart’s collaboration with MARS Petcare
On Saturday, 23 September, our team at pandamart capped off the ‘Buy Now, Help Them’ campaign, in collaboration with MARS Petcare, by bringing a unique opportunity for pet lovers in Malaysia – a heartwarming experience of volunteering at PAWS Animal Welfare Society!
The campaign is aimed at driving awareness of pet abandonment and giving back to our furry friends who are in need of loving homes. For each of our customers’ purchases of MARS Petcare products totaling RM 30 or more on pandamart, a meal would be donated to a pet in PAWS.
The campaign ran from 4th to 31st August 2023, featuring on pandamart a mixture of MARS Petcare’s wet and dry dog and cat food, making it easier for pet owners to access these yummy delights for their beloved fur babies.
What was the outcome, you ask?
Thanks to the generous purchases made by our pandamart customers, we were able to donate five packs of 20kg PEDIGREE Dry Chicken & Vegetables kibbles and 15 packs of 7kg WHISKAS Dry Ocean Fish kibbles to PAWS, helping to support their noble cause!
A Day of Volunteering and Compassion
Team members from both foodpanda and MARS Petcare came together on a Saturday morning at PAWS in Ara Damansara to spend quality time with the canine friends. The activities for the day included walking the dogs and bathing them, ensuring the four-legged fur friends get the opportunity to socialise with humans. It was a heartening sight to see a group of volunteers donned in pink and blue shirts, holding the dog leashes tight as they walked about. We were provided plastic bags to ensure a clean environment by picking up after our furry companions too!
A Heartfelt Collaboration
Our foodpanda team members were paired with experienced MARS Petcare representatives, who had prior experience volunteering in animal shelters. This partnership allowed us to learn and work together effectively to make a real difference.
The opening speeches were delivered by Shintaro Matsuno, Head of pandamart at foodpanda, and Phua Fui Ching, SEA D-commerce Director of MARS Petcare. Both speakers emphasized the importance of such collaborations and the positive impact they can have on the lives of animals in need.
A Wagging Tale of Compassion
After the dogs were bathed and returned to their enclosures, we gathered around and took some time to reflect on our experiences. For many of us, this was our first time volunteering at an animal shelter. Some volunteers were not even dog owners, and the day proved to be an eye-opening experience as we witnessed firsthand how many dogs and cats are still seeking loving homes.
One heartwarming observation was the friendly and affectionate nature of the dogs we encountered. Their friendly disposition made them more likely to be adopted, and it filled our hearts with hope for their future. Some dogs were more interested in bonding with their fellow canine buddies, while others simply lounged around, wagging their tails—leaving us to wonder what they were thinking! 😂
