Back for its sixth edition, the annual inaugural cafe fair will see the best tea and coffee enthusiasts of Malaysia and the region come together. Happening from 9 January to 11 January 2020 at the Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre (MITEC), aspiring baristas can expect a showcase of equipment, machinery, accessories as well as products one may need to run a cafe business. Take the three-day event as a one-stop platform where industry professionals, traders, coffee and tea enthusiasts, and producers meet to explore business opportunities in the growing world of the coffee and tea industry.
Discover in-depth knowledge about the artistry of coffee and tea from over 200 exhibitors, with experts hailing from a total of 22 countries. Not only do you get to interact with fellow local baristas, but you will also be able to connect with international enthusiasts during the event.
Event Highlights
Every run of Cafe Malaysia brings more to the table than the year prior. In 2020, attendees can look forward to a host of events including the Malaysia Latte Art Championship, Malaysia Brewers’ Cup and the Cafe Malaysia 2020 Seminar.
Malaysia Latte Art Championship will see top baristas come head-to-head to create the most artistic cup of latte. Winner of this competition will advance to represent Malaysia in the World Latte Art Championship.
Similarly, the Malaysia Brewers Cup will have the nation’s top baristas competing to show their coffee brewing expertise, where the crowning champion will represent Malaysia on the world stage at the World’s Brewers Cup. Baristas will be tested on their coffee brewing knowledge, the techniques required to bring out unique flavours as well as how to best utilise manual brewing methods.
The stakes are high for participating baristas of both competitions, so don’t forget to show your support at these must-catch events!
For those more interested in the serious side of running a cafe business, Cafe Malaysia 2020 is also hosting a few seminars, featuring speakers from Japan and Malaysia.
