They are mostly popular for their use of ayam kampung and their Kelantanese cooking plus they also use fresh ingredients so you know you’re getting good food on the daily here.

2. Restoran Ayam Kampung Velodrome

The only difference is that this place probably offers a better ambience to enjoy your food. Their most popular daily item is their ikan bakar, gulai kawah and ayam kampung bakar.
If you love spicy food specifically, you will definitely enjoy having your lunch here as they don’t just serve a slightly spicy lauk but they also have sambal belacan for that extra kick.

3. Anne Elizabeth The Deli Restaurant
If you’re looking for something on the Western side or something more bistro for lunch, make your way to Anne Elizabeth instead. The only warning we should give you is that you will probably have to make your way there early during lunchtime or else you might have to wait to be seated.
This place is well-known for their pork items on the menu whether that is pork chops, pork sausages or even pulled pork sandwiches. They also have other poultry items on the menu for non-pork eaters.

4. Big Tree Lin Kee Chan Sow Lin Steamed Fish Head
Most of the time you will get loyal customers in this restaurant and it’s for a very good reason – they’re probably one of the best places in town to get steamed fish head. If you’re looking for a feast or you’re bringing a group of people with you, this place will definitely not disappoint.
You’d probably have to deal with the crowd but with fish of the quality they are serving and the price they are offering – no one can resist wanting to have lunch here.

5. Sun Ming Charcoal Roast Restaurant
This isn’t just another affordable lunch place, this place also serves one of the best charcoal roast chicken and duck in town. Just like most nice places in Cheras, you will probably have to queue for a bit as it gets really packed especially during lunch hour but if you head out slightly earlier you might just beat the crowd.
Another favourite item on their menu is the roast BBQ pork so if you’re there be sure to try these crowd-pleasers.
