What Is Thai Fried Pork

Thai Fried Pork is a traditional dish in Thai Cuisine. Unlike other recipes, this one is usually made at home as suppose to being a restaurant item in itself. Plus, you only need a handful of ingredients to make from scratch for any family dinner or friends’ reunion.

In Thailand specifically, Thai Fried Pork is usually eaten as a snack with nuts and beer. There is not to say that it can’t be found elsewhere as you can find it at certain Thai restaurants. Usually, pork is chosen as the main ingredient when preparing this dish recipe but you can always substitute it with chicken, Gai Tod Gratiem.

Another variant is Nuea Tod Gratiem which uses beef as its choice of meat. Additionally, there is a seafood version of the meal, but it is quite a rare sight. It costs around 50 baht when you order out at the food stall or Thai restaurant.

If you happen to be or have been to Bangkok, you will notice that it costs higher around tourist spots. It can be around 80 to 100 baht for the menu item. If you are not fond of crowded places, you should avoid these areas or even better yet, try making it at home.

Thai Fried Pork is usually served over rice. So, if you try making it at home, you should start cooking rice first, so when it is cooked and ready, you only need to dig in. You will that in any recipes online, ground pork is nearly used in all of them but feel free to use any type of pork that you have.

For those who are trying to watch their weight, freely add the pork to a plain salad bowl. The harmonious blend of fried pork and vegetables can give you that perfect crunch and flavour you can’t find elsewhere.
