Guide to Kuala Lumpur – Mont Kiara and Hartamas

Welcome to the central hub of KL’s expat crowd! Here are just a few things you could do in the elite part of KL – Mont Kiara and Hartamas:

9am – Breakfast at Pretz n’ Beanz

Start your day on the right note with some breakfast from Pretz n’ Beanz, which serves up classic fuss-free Western breakfast meals. Go for some Omelettes or if you’re feeling fancy, let them whip you up some Egg Benedict. Located in Solaris Mont Kiara, also known as SohoKL, the restaurant is surrounded by many other eateries and small boutiques and shops.

11am – Get artsy at Artemis Art

Artemis Art is an art gallery located at Publika, the hipster shopping mall located in the outskirts of Mont Kiara. It showcases the works of regional artists, from professionals to amateur graduates to even self-taught art enthusiasts. Step in to create a sense of awareness and appreciation for the arts and the beauty within. You could probably even snap up a piece or two!

1pm – Pizza is love, pizza is life!

Ready for lunch? Good. How about some Mikey’s New York Pizza for lunch? The pizzas served here are not your run-of-the-mill pizzas you find everywhere. The people at Mikey’s wanted to bring the true blue Big Apple flavour to Malaysia, so don’t be surprised if one huge slice is enough to last you the day! Perfect lunch for families and basically anyone who loves pizza. Try it!

4pm – Sweat it out with some hot yoga

Try something different and give your body some time to destress and be limber! Hot Yo Studios, which is at Desa Sri Hartamas, offers Hot Yoga classes for all levels of ability. What is Hot Yoga, you ask? It is basically yoga, but practiced in temperatures of up to 38 degrees Celsius. It promotes blood flow and you’ll be sweating out all the excess water in your body in no time!

7pm – Thai-ing up the loose ends

It’s dinner time! Treat yourself to Bangkok’s best street food at Lobbee Thai Connection, located within Publika. Dig into some Hatyai Fried Chicken, Crispy Summer Spring Rolls or even Fresh Squid with Garlic. They also have an array of fried rice varieties and ala carte dishes you could choose from. Let loose after all that hot yoga!

11pm – Quality time with friends

Looking for a good place to have drinks with some friends? Try Bulldog English Pub & Restaurant. It is your quintessential sports bar, where everyone knows everybody and there’s always some sort of sport channel playing on the TV. It’s perfect for you to let your hair down and just chill after a long day of activities!
