5 Eateries for Breakfast in Kajang

Good morning! Are you looking for places to have breakfast at, specifically in Kajang? Then check out these 5 Eateries for Breakfast in Kajang.

1. Roti Canai 17

Let’s be honest- no breakfast beats a good roti canai. There’s something about this greasy bread that makes Malaysian’s, all around flock to this simple delight. At Roti Canai 17, they specialise in making the best roti canai you’ll ever have.

If you like your roti on the crispier side, don’t hold back! Ask the staff to make it ‘garing’. All roti here are served with a side of dhal curry, a dish that holds its own.

You should give the Nasi Lemak at this stall a go too! The fragrant coconut milk infused rice is fluffy and pairs well with the spicy sambal and complementary fried egg. They’re generous with their servings, so try not to let anything go to waste.

Patrons suggest you pair your nasi lemak with a side of Chicken or Lamb curry. It will only make this great dish better!

2. Ten Hup Chee Cheong Fun

Ten Hup Chee Cheong Fun is a very famous restaurant that has been around for three generations. Located just outside the famous Kajang Market, be sure to step in and try their nation-famous Chee Cheong Fun (steamed rice roll). The rice rolls here are silky and smooth, perfect for unravelling and slurping into your mouth.

They sell three varieties of Hong Kong Chee Cheong Fun here. One is with shrimp, the other is with char siew and the last a mix of char siew and shrimps. Of course, we recommend you try the combination while you’re here because we want you to try the best!

The juicy and tender car siew works well with the slightly crunchy shrimp. You’ll be in for a textural delight for sure. Any dish you order, expect a generous portion of everything at a low price.

3. Restaurant Basil Leaves

Feast your eyes on a selection of thosais, vadais and more at Basil Leaves! A great way to start off your day is with a light thosai paired with a heavily spiced curry.

Not only is this dish tasty, you’re also allowing your stomach to ease into the day with something small. We recommend the Rava Thosai, a thinly spread batter with the inclusion of julienned carrots, cabbage and mustard seeds.

You could also have their fluffy idlis made just a few minutes before serving. These hot white discs are the perfect vehicle for the curry of your choice. We think the staff at this restaurant cooks up a mean Tenggiri fish curry- so give that a try!

As always, vadais are a must when present. We love this crunchy dhal filled delight. Pair your meal with a Teh Tarik, and you’re good to go!

4. Kak Mah Nasi Dagang Pintu 1 Putrajaya

Named after the junction heading to Putrajaya, this Kajang breakfast spot is a local favourite. You’re bound to see lines of cars parked by the side of the road when you’re here. Apart from the variety of kuihs, a must-try here are the rice dishes hailing from East Malaysia.

If you get here in time (they usually sell out fast) give their Nasi Dagang a go. This Terengganu staple consists of rice steamed in coconut milk, fish curry and extra ingredients such as pickled cucumber and carrots.

Alternately, their Kelantanese pride and joy a try. The pea-flower infused rise will give off a slight tinge of pretty blue that’s eaten with salted dried fish or fried chicken, and a mandatory serving of fresh salad.
