1. Mykori Dessert Cafe – Kajang

During these hot days, nothing beats a Signature Kakigori. If you’re wondering what in the world does that mean? Kakigori’s are bowls of shaved ice desserts packing fresh fruits, cakes, chocolate bits and just about anything awesome you can think of- we almost forgot! They packed their icy delights with ice cream too here. These bowls of delight are not only pretty; they pack a punch of flavour too.

And don’t worry, we promise you won’t get watered down version of an ice-cream. We recommend the sinful combination of dark Chocolate flavoured ice, Oreos, brownies, caramel, banana & chocolate! We’re talking about the Instagram famous Chocolate Bonafee Kakigori- greatness in a bowl!

You should also stop by for their Signature Toast line with a menu that combines fresh fruits with ice cream with a delicious thick toast, topped with cream. Give a go at the Matcha Adzuku Toast. This dessert is a French meets Japanese dish, and it’s out of this world.

Indulge on the cross-cultural taste explosion with the slight bitter hints of the matcha and the sweet syrupy red beans. Of course, don’t miss out on the star of this Café, the Red Bean Croissant Taiyaki for a croissant filled pleasure.

2. Cendol Jalan Mendaling

Cool down on a scorching hot day with a bowl of their refreshing cendol. What makes the cendol at Jalan Mendaling exceptional is the thick brown syrup they add to the shaved ice which gives of that distinct tan cendol colour.

The only thing that makes this dish better is the coconut milk mixed with the soft cendol strands. The fragrant syrup makes it hard to say no to a bowl of cendol especially after its mixed into the coconut milk, Get their Cendol Kacang Merah here- a traditional bowl of cendol with a  layer of beautiful red beans at the bottom of your bowl.

While you’re here, check out the ABC. This dessert has existed since Malaysia’s independence. Comprising of shaved ice that is topped with syrup from a lychee can and sirap (a fragrant rose flavoured cordial). To make things creamy, the vendors here scoop in a healthy spoonful of condensed milk.
