Preparations:

For the cupcake

  1. Preheat the oven to 177°C.
  2. Line a dozen muffin cups in the pan using cupcake liners.
  3. Mix the flour, baking powder and salt all together.
  4. Beat the butter and sugar until it becomes lighter and fluffy.
  5. Add two eggs and the strawberry extract inside the mixture and stir it.
  6. Add sour cream and mix it until it is well-combined.
  7. Slowly add the remaining of the ingredients and mix them all.
  8. Scoop the batter and put it onto the cupcake liners.
  9. Bake the cupcakes for about 20 minutes with 350F.
  10. Remove from the oven and let it cool for some times.
  11. Remove all the cupcake from the pan and transfer it into a more suitable rack to cool off the cupcake.

For the frosting

  1. Using a mixer, beat the butter until it becomes smooth.
  2. Add in the confectioners’ sugar and strawberry extract and mix them until they become well-combined.
  3. Slowly add in the heavy cream and mix it for some times until the frosting becomes smooth and well-combined.
  4. The frosting is now ready to be used to frost the cooled cupcakes.
