At foodpanda Malaysia, we believe in giving back to our community—not only through delivering convenience but also by making a tangible difference in the lives of those who need it most. For the second year running, our focus went beyond humans; through our latest Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project, Nourish the Paws, we extended our support to our furry friends. Together with ProDiet, ProBalance, and in collaboration with pandamart, we joined hands to support Second Chance, a shelter dedicated to providing love, care, and second chances for animals in need.
Nourish the Paws Project: A Mission to Make a Difference
The Nourish the Paws Project is a carefully designed CSR initiative aimed at ensuring the animals at Second Chance have consistent, high-quality nutrition. Recognizing the crucial role that good nutrition plays in the health and well-being of shelter animals, foodpanda Malaysia partnered with ProDiet and ProBalance to launch the “Buy One, Donate One” campaign. Running from September 13 to October 17, 2024, this campaign invited customers to contribute directly to the welfare of these animals simply by purchasing ProDiet or ProBalance pet food on pandamart.
For every kilogram of pet food purchased during the campaign, ProDiet and ProBalance donated an equivalent kilogram of dry pet food to Second Chance. This simple yet impactful approach meant that with every purchase, customers were directly supporting Second Chance, doubling the positive impact.
The Campaign in Numbers: Nourishment by the Kilogram
The overwhelming response from our customers made the campaign a massive success. Here’s a look at the numbers:
Dog Food: 37 bags amounting to 736 kilograms
Cat Food: 103 bags amounting to 2,062 kilograms
Total Meals Donated: 29,850 meals
The generous donations will go a long way in sustaining the shelter’s animals, providing them with the essential nutrition they need to thrive and increasing their chances of adoption.
Fostering Community Engagement for a Greater Cause
This initiative wasn’t just about donations; it was also about raising awareness and fostering a community of people who care about animal welfare. By partnering with pandamart, ProDiet, and ProBalance, we reached a broad audience through targeted online platforms, including banners on pandamart, social media posts on foodpanda and brand-specific Instagram pages, and dedicated email newsletters. These efforts helped spread the word, inviting more people to join hands in supporting shelter animals and highlighting the importance of pet adoption.
A Positive Impact on Brand Image and Community Relationships
Beyond the numbers, this CSR initiative has strengthened foodpanda Malaysia’s brand image as a community-driven and compassionate organization. Collaborating with ProDiet and ProBalance, we underscored the impact that everyday purchases can have on creating positive change.
