New initiative brings immediate earning potential and community support through recruitment and rider engagement activities
KUCHING, 15 OCTOBER 2024 – foodpanda Malaysia has extended its delivery partner recruitment and engagement campaign, ‘Panda Jelajah Borneo,’ to Kuching, Sarawak, offering flexible earning opportunities to more Malaysians in the region. Led by Shubham Saran, Director of Operations at foodpanda Malaysia, the event underscored the company’s commitment to empowering local communities through accessible freelance income options.
This expansion builds on the success of previous events, with foodpanda continuing to provide a platform for community engagement and support. The event features exciting activities designed for both kids and adults, ensuring fun for the whole family. Attendees could enjoy and participate in interactive games, engaging workshops, and thrilling lucky draws with fantastic prizes that were up for grabs.
Delivery partners and their families could enjoy activities such as 360 spin cam and AR filters at the photo booth together, DIY handmade mosaic coaster and bead making classes for adults. While the children got to try their hand at a host of workshops including plaster doll painting, drawing bag painting and hand fan painting among other activities.
Additionally, the event highlighted the Special Black Oil Bundle Package from Liqui Moly, designed to promote vehicle maintenance and efficiency. Participants learned about the benefits of quality engine oils and how they can extend the lifespan of their vehicles.

There were also special engagement opportunities with Ikhlas.com, providing participants with insights into various services and products that cater to the needs of the gig community. Moreover, the i-Saraan package by EPF was featured, showcasing how gig workers can save for their retirement through flexible contributions, ensuring their financial stability in the future.
Furthermore, insights into the panda hearts program were shared, which offers various benefits, including insurance coverage and upskilling opportunities for riders and their families. To promote health and well-being, the event included free health and eye checkups for all attendees, emphasizing the importance of regular health assessments.
