Who doesn’t love buttercream fish? It is everyone’s favourite! You can find restaurants that serve buttercream dishes in almost every corner of the street.

This dish goes well with rice on the side, and its fragrant butter sauce will make your stomach rumble just from the thought of it. The ingredients needed for this dish aren’t much, and the recipe is easy to follow. Below is a recipe that you can follow to make it yourself:

Ingredients:

(For the cream sauce)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Prepare cream sauce (as instructed below) and set aside and keep it warm.
  3. Spray a baking dish with cooking spray and put the codfish fillets in the dish. Sprinkle the fish with salt.
  4. Mix melted butter and garlic and brush it over the fillets, keep any leftover butter mixture.
  5. Sprinkle the seasoned breadcrumbs over the fillets and pour remaining butter mixture over the top.
  6. Pour the cream sauce in the spaces between the codfish fillets so it fills up the baking dish and just the tops of the fillets are visible.
  7. Place it in the preheated oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes or until the cream sauce starts to bubble.
  8. When the sauce starts bubbling up, set the oven to “broil” for about 3-5 minutes or until the fillets turn golden brown.
  9. Keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn’t burn.
  10. Remove from oven and serve with potatoes, rice, or vegetables.

(For the cream sauce)

  1. Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Slowly add the cornstarch and stir it for about a minute.
  3. While continually stirring, slowly add whipping cream and milk until mixed well. Then, stir in Parmesan cheese.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and occasionally stir for about 10 minutes until the sauce becomes rich and creamy. Add more milk if needed and season with salt and pepper, to taste.
