What defines street food? Street food is a meal that is simple and cheap. Nobody can deny the fact that Thailand is great for their street food. It is not only delicious but cheap too. There are so many kinds of street food that you can get either at their night market or simply by the road. The best thing about the street food is you can have it all day and all night. There is no proper time for you to eat such food. Some of the famous street foods in Thailand are banana pancake, pad krapao, and fried pork. I will not miss any chance to taste all of their street foods as long as my money and throat allow it. There are a few benefits of eating pork because it contains nutrients such as protein and vitamins. We can get energy from the protein and repair our muscles from the vitamins. However, we have to be careful because excessive amount of pork consumption may lead to unnecessary effects to our health.

If you miss walking around the streets of Thailand and try their food, you can make fried pork in your own kitchen. It is amazingly simple and takes very few minutes to be ready. Follow the recipe below to make Thai fried pork just like in Thailand.

Ingredients (2 servings):

Directions:

  1. Combine oyster sauce, fish sauce, white pepper, salt and sugar in a bowl. Mix well.
  2. Coat the chopped pork belly on a tray with the mixture evenly on both sides.
  3. Add tempura flour onto the pork and distribute evenly on both sides too.
  4. Place the marinated pork in a container and keep in the refrigerator overnight.
  5. Pour the oil into the frying pan and heat it until it is hot.
  6. Place the pork in the frying pan and let it cook until it turns golden brown.
  7. Flip the pork to the other side so it is fully cooked on both sides.
  8. When it is done, turn off the heat and take out the pork.
  9. Cut the pork into small pieces.
  10. Serve with sweet Thai chilli sauce.
