Sugar lovers, listen up! This list of Seri Kembangan desserts is for you! Desserts are always the best part of any meal. It’s almost as if you’re rewarding yourself for eating- by eating more! Malaysians are blessed with a plethora of desserts to choose from.

From the sweet kuihs we indulge in the morning to the smooth payasam (an Indian dessert), you have after cleaning off that banana leaf lunch or even to those weekly bubble tea treats- we’re no strangers to our dentists.

There’s no shame in admitting you have a sweet tooth. But we’re taking the liberty here by offering you some advice: practice moderation! That said, come indulge your sweet cravings by checking this list of 4 Dessert Places to Delight Your Sweet Tooth in Seri Kembangan!

1. Dessert Garden

In the heart of Seri Kembangan lies a wooden brick-themed Dessert Garden that’s so beautiful and calming, you’ll make his café a weekly must-visit. While they offer an extensive menu featuring a variety of Asian and Western cuisine, we’re here for the desserts!

A must-try here is the Dancing Durian Waffle highlights fresh and creamy durian. Note that the price of the waffles changes with the durian season. The waffles here are worth of talk because they are light and crispy on the outside with a surprisingly fluffy centre. This waffle base is topped off with fresh durian fruit, ice cream, light cream and sugar dusting to complete the meal!

They also have local favourites like bubur cha cha- a colourful presentation of rice flour balls in a bowl of sweetened coconut milk, served chilled of course. You can’t miss out on the cendol here. The slightly tan coconut milk (from the gula Melaka) is smoothly refreshing!

Give a go at their Tong Yuen (Glutinous Rice Ball), a must for the Winter Solstice serving up boiled ginger soup and rice balls packed with sesame or peanut filling.

2. Grandmom’s Dessert

Grandmom Dessert has been serving traditional handmade Taiwanese desserts for more than five years. This humble family-owned restaurant is located at Seri Kembangan, a small store that’s always full of customers.

Once you step into the shop, you will be filled with high school memories with all the sticky notes pasted on the walls. Have a read while you wait for your desserts to come. Most of the notes are sweet letters from customers, mostly blessings, wishes and even confession notes! You’ll surely be entertained!

This store features a variety of shaved ice series including the Soya Ice Series, Grass Jelly Series and the Tau Fa Series. What makes this store a must-visit is that all the ingredients are handmade and freshly prepared daily, with no artificial flavour or colouring preservatives.

All this at an affordable price! We recommend the combination of soya shaved ice with slippery cincau, ocha balls, boba and red beans. It’s a perfect bowl for hot days!

Try their mammoul (cookies) such as Barazek (pistachio and sesame) and Graybeh (butter cookies) which are all creamy and flavourful. Don’t forget to try some of their Bakhlava Cream too.

4. Secret Recipe

A definite must-visit when you’re craving cake. Secret Recipe doesn’t need much of an introduction, but we’re still going to share our favourites! We love the Carrot Slice for a smooth-tasting, nut-filled, cream cheese-topped simplicity.

If you’re in the mood for chocolate, then try out the Chocolate Indulgence and truly indulge with the three layers of chocolate in this cake! The New York Classic is another crowd favourite known for its minimal presentation and hefty volume.

Of course, no cake is complete without a cup of good coffee! We love the Iced Salted Caramel Latte for a balance of the caramel-infused coffee, whipped cream and salted groundnuts throughout the drink.
