From local to Western, SS2 is buzzing with some of the best eats in the city, and those residing or visiting SS2 are constantly spoilt for choice when it comes to food.
We’re not complaining though. Think about how lucky we are to experience all kinds of food in the multicultural society we live in. One cuisine for each day? Yes, only in Malaysia. Now before we come to the decision of what to have today, here’s a list of ss2 lunch places to check out for inspiration on what to eat!
1. 7 Village Noodle House
7 Village Noodle House is a place brimming with history. Originally from Penang, the founder started his business of selling Kuey Teow Soup on a tricycle in the 1970s. Word spread of his slurp-tastic dish that the noodle house has since expanded into four outlets in total, with one located in SS2. The portions served are generous and the noodles are silky smooth with every bite. Despite being a franchise business, every dish still feels like a home-cooked meal from an uncle with humble beginnings.

2. Chan Meng Kee
It is impossible to go wrong with Wan Tan Mee for lunch. If saucy, springy noodles plus slices of caramelised Char Siew pork have you salivating, then Chan Meng Kee is the place to go! On both weekdays and weekends, Chan Meng Kee is packed with foodies beelining for a simple yet delightful dish of Wan Tan Mee. And if barbequed pork isn’t up your alley, they serve Wan Tan Mee with poached chicken as well.

3. Restoran Station 8
You’ll find a ton of options at Restoran Station 8. Some make their way to Station 8 for their popular Penang Curry Mee while others don’t miss an opportunity to have their delicious Lei Cha. The famous Bond’s Char Kuey Teow is also served in this eatery. Their selection of Nyonya kuih also makes for a good dessert for your lunchtime meal. As it can get pretty crowded between brunch and lunch, you might want to give yourself a longer lunch break if you want to fully enjoy your time here.

4. Restoran Lim Mee Yoke
Restoran Lim Mee Yoke is known for their Penang-style prawn mee that carries a slightly thicker broth than what we are normally used to. Perhaps it’s this difference that makes Lim Mee Yoke stand out. The soup is flavourful, and robust and tastes of fresh prawns. Additional toppings are also recommended, usually pork ribs that go superbly with the soup dish.

Toast & Roast’s popularity is credited to their mouth-watering caramelised char siew and roasted pork. Supple and juicy, the meats are paired with springy Hakka egg noodles, fried onions and spring onions. Having been in operation for a decade, Toast & Roast knows a thing or two about satisfying their customers. The waiters are also incredibly helpful for those of us who can’t decide what to get with an “Anything La” section on the menu!
