Located at Batu Lancang Market Food Court, they are famous for their coffee art on the top of a traditional cup of coffee. They serve a variety of Malaysian breakfast food such as thick and flavourful kaya and butter toast, nasi lemak with fish and prawns as well as local kuih-muih. 

It is also one of the favourite breakfast spots for locals. Seats are quite limited, especially during peak breakfast hours, so do not be surprised if you need to share tables with other patrons.

For those who are driving, parking spots are provided; however, please be reminded to place your parking ticket accordingly.

Have you ever wondered what it feels like to dine in an alley?

This unique cafe isn’t located at a shop lot but at an alleyway between two buildings. In the mornings, you may see a long queue in front of the alley just to grab a spot at this famous establishment. Due to the packed space, table-sharing with other patrons is mostly unavoidable. Guests will have to be patient as the whole process from ordering to serving may take as long as 30-45 minutes.

This traditional, family-operated cafe is famous for its hot cup of coffee and their charcoal-grilled kaya and butter toast and homemade kaya. Apart from that, the cafe also serves authentic local nasi lemak and curry puff.

#03 三点三 (Three-fifteen) Meet, Jelutong

Right in the heart of the city, you may be surprised to see this food stall as they have chickens walking around while the patrons enjoy their breakfast. It is operated by a family staying in a traditional village house, and they decided to convert the small corner into a simple “Kampung-style” food vendor. They are famous for their Polo Bun (菠萝包), a type of sweet bun with a crunchy crust containing fillings such as cheese, ham, and egg. Allowing diners to enjoy the original bread while also trying it out with innovative fillings.

They serve kaya and butter toast as well as a half-boiled egg if you are not a fan of their Polo Bun. Their aromatic coffee pairs well with the kaya and butter toast if you need your caffeine boost to start your day.

You can park your vehicle in the area just right in front of the house. Seats and car parks are minimal. You may be requested to share the table with other patrons if required.

If you love spicy food, then you definitely have to check this place out!

This next restaurant in the list is a Malay stall located at Sri Weld Food Court that serves freshly prepared banana leaf wrapped nasi lemak with special sambal. There are 6 types of the nasi lemak for you to choose from which are anchovies, salted fish with quarter egg, fried fish, cuttlefish, shrimp, and fried chicken.

Their packed nasi lemak is the favourite of many regulars that drops by for lunch. If you have a big appetite, make sure that you get at least two packets before they are all gone.

#05 Kedai Kopi Genting Café

This hawker stall sells a variety of authentic local cuisine such as apom balik, jawa mee, kueh teow soup, nasi lemak as well as curry mee. You’ll be spoilt for choice!

This cafe is famous for their homemade peanut butter with shrimp paste sauce Chee Cheong Fun (steamed rice noodle roll). The unique taste is a refreshing change from the usual chee cheong fun and is a definite must-try. For the chance to try this dish, you would have to queue up, but it’s definitely worth the wait. Customers are served as fast as possible while maintaining the quality of the food.

The café is also well-known for their curry mee, arguably one of the most authentic Penang curry noodles. The noodles are served with a special chilli paste which blends nicely with the curry soup that is prepared with the fresh coconut milk.

The only challenge will be parking and finding a seat. It is a common thing in the restaurant to share tables with other customers. It is not advisable to park your vehicles haphazardly at the roadside as you may get compounded after your enjoyable breakfast.
