Traditionally, black coffee beans are produced by roasting the beans with margarine, sugar, and wheat. In contrast, white coffee beans only use margarine and omit the sugar. This results in a less roasted coffee bean.
Originating from Old Town Ipoh, Perak, this drink has become a sensation among local coffee drinkers. It is available as an instant coffee and is widely available throughout Malaysia.
This coffee drink has a slightly caramelised flavour to it and has a fragrant, aromatic taste to boot! Although foreigners may find the drink somewhat unorthodox, Malaysians have grown accustomed to the taste and have since fallen in love.

Ingredients (2 servings):
- 2 tbsp white coffee
- 4 tbsp condensed milk
- 400ml boiling water
Directions:
- Combine the white coffee with boiling water in a pot. Stir them well and let it sit for a minute.
- Then, strain the coffee into the cups. Add in 2 tbsp condensed milk into each cup. You can adjust the amount of condensed milk according to preference. Stir well.
- Enjoy the coffee while it’s still hot. If you prefer iced coffee, let the coffee cool down to room temperature before adding in the ice cubes.
