Recipe: Condensed Milk Hainan Toast

Everyone loves eating snacks and street food when you get hungry in the middle of the day. An all-time favourite, the condensed milk Hainan toast is a dessert loved by many people around the world, especially in Asian countries. The thick and dense Hainan bread is already good on its own, but even better with a drizzle of the creamy sweetness of condensed milk.

Ingredients (4 servings):

Preparation Method:

  1. In a skillet or wide pan, heat 1 tablespoon of butter on medium-high heat until melted.
  2. Place the bread slices into the butter and allow to toast for about 1 to 2 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Add the rest of the butter once one side is brown, right before flipping the slices over. Again, allow the bread to toast for another minute or so until the second side is also golden brown.
  4. Place the toasted bread on serving plates. Using a spoon, drizzle condensed milk generously over the toasted bread. Serve immediately.
